Describe
your DJ style:
I am very professional and I understand your needs to make your event
a success. We discuss the details of your function and agree on music
and style beforehand. Thus, you can rest assured that my execution
will be as you planned. I am very flexible with your music selection
and I’m open to requests and suggestions. Most of all I always strive
to make you party fun and full of dancing.
Is
there a limit to the amount of music that can be requested?
I provide
you with an opportunity to pick a short list of your priority songs
(outside of the specialty dances) and I also encourage you to list
any other music that you would like to be incorporated into the evening,
While I will make sure to play from your “priority” list I will use
the additional list of music you provided as a guide. This allows
me to apply my experience and creativity to make the most of your
dancing guests.
What
is your usual attire?
For all formal events an appropriate tux jacket and shirt is standard.
If
you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you
require that they provide it?
Chances are that I have your songs in my 50,000+ song library. If,
however, I need to locate a song I will do my best. On occasion I
ask the client to provide their hard to find songs.
How
many other DJs do you work with?
I work with a number of other DJs.
What
is the minimum amount of time you will DJ for?
My basic package consists of 5 hours of music. This can be customized
depending on your needs. Shorter time packages are on per case basis.
Is
the client able to meet the DJ before booking?
Yes. It is the best opportunity to learn what your needs are and for
you to learn more about my services. The meeting is at no-obligation
to book me.
Do
you specialize in any ethnic or international events?
I specialize in Polish-American weddings and other events. I speak
both languages fluently and I have knowledge and posses a huge library
of music appealing to both Polish and American audiences.
Can
the client submit a do-not-play list?
Yes. The last thing I would want to do is play a song that is offensive
or not liked by you or your guests.
Do
you bring your own equipment?
Yes. I provide all sound, lighting,
and back-up equipment.
What (if any) special equipment, such
as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service?
While the standard lighting package consisting of intelligent (programmable)
light fixtures illuminates the dance-floor very beautifully, you can
upgrade to almost anything you want that will fit within the confines
of the room. I can offer concert-like lighting effects and visual
projections. The latest “hot” effect is LED uplighting, which creates
an alternate look of the room with beautiful changing or static colors.
Please call for details.
How
much time do you usually need to set up?
Do you require that the site or client provide a table for you to
set up on?
We usually need at minimum of 2 hours for setup. Tables are not needed
as all equipment rests on our professional stands.
Do
you have any extra space requirements?
No. The typical space reserved for DJs or bands is adequate.
Do
you have a sign or banner that you use at events?
I do have a small and elegant sign displayed in front of my console.
It does not interfere with the look of the room.
Do
you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?
I emcee all important and essential parts of the evening such as bridal
introductions, first dances etc. Overall however, I let the music
“do the talking” but your guests are reminded throughout the night
that a professional live DJ is behind the controls. I keep it very
balanced.
How
would you motivate the crowd if no one is dancing?
Unless your guests have a “no dance” policy it is very unlikely that
there would be no or very few people dancing. But when necessary,
a change of music direction with an appropriate announcement usually
does the trick.
What
is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you
require that the client provide your meal?
I, like other vendors, customarily take a break for a meal with your
guests. Seating is usually arranged at a separate table or we are
seated at an available table in the room. During that time music is
playing and I am in close vicinity to make any changes to the repertoire.
Will
you arrange for recorded music to play during your breaks?
Yes. The music is always playing.
What
is your backup plan in case you become unavailable on the day of the
event?
I work with a number of DJs and in the unlikely event that I am not
available to perform arrangements will be made for a replacement.
Do
you book yourself for more than one event in a day?
No.
Do
you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?
For events within the Chicagoland area there are no travel charges
added. For more remote locations prices are established accordingly.
What
is the required deposit to secure your services?
$150-$300.
